When I was younger in school, all my teachers recognized that I had an aptitude for science and math. I was not talented in Shakespeare. I still can’t really read it well. I had an aptitude and love for science. I went to USC undergrad. I was a biology major. I loved it there. I was in my groove. I met a lot of people when I went to college. I met a lot of dental students. The dental students I met undergrad influenced me to think about dentistry. Also, I took a class, an art class, airbrush painting, and the teacher recognized that I had some skills with my hands, that I was good with color, and suggested that I think about going to dental school. He was right. I took an introduction to dentistry class undergrad and I loved it. I fell in love with dentistry. It was a combination of everything that I love: art, sculpture, working with color. There’s a lot of science to dentistry. You get to be a doctor. I love people. I knew I wanted to be in a profession where I could work with people, not behind a desk with a computer. I wanted a profession where I could help people, and where I could fix things, and make people smile. Dentistry encompasses all of that.
